 Just to state the obvious!

I have not posted here for ages, covid and general problems,  but I intend to be back!

inertia?

After those blue paintings I started to get back into black and white, territory that i explore from time to time.  These are drawings rather than paintings. Some with a bamboo pen, some a marker, all on paper and small, about 10x 10 cm .  very rapid drawings of a red pepper, I really like the third one , almost an abstract. I decided to take this further as a series of paintings.

A LONG PERIOD OF INERTIA

For personal reasons, I have dried up.  Ill health and an accident didn't help but it is almost a year since I last posted.  I want to paint but, like my music, my piano and organ playing, I just seize up.  I don't want to dwell on this and am hoping that starting my blogs again will motivate me.
So here are small paintings that follow on from my last post.  These few little "blue" pictures follow on from the last post and are just over a year old.  They were executed very quickly, just a few minutes, trying to be spontaneous.  They are painted in acrylic, all 20 x 20 cm, the first one on a piece of plywood, the other two on canvas.  I will post more very soon.

some little blue paintings no 1

Back in England.  A slight cheat with  a few small paintings made shortly before I started this blog
Simple colour schemes and brusque direct brush strokes. All very intuitive.

#11   acrylic on cardboard  13.5 cm X  15.5 cm

Apples in the sun

There has been a delay in posting and also a break  in painting. the last post was sent whilst we were still in Belgium and about to travel back to UK.  Then I did something a bit silly, and unplanned. Dreaming of escaping from a gorilla I threw myself out from  a rocky ledge backwards onto a sandy bank. But I was dreaming and it my bed, not a  rocky ledge and a hard floor not a soft bank.  Nothing broken though, but a bit of bruising and stiffness, yes. No painting for a little while. But here are three little paintings from around that time.  They are more like thoughts for a future painting

#7 apple. plate. sunshine abstract
pencil and watercolour  on paper15 cm x 15 cm

#8 sunny plate and apple
mixed media  sketch on paper 15 cm x 15 cm

#9 green turns to yellow

Autumn Leaves

Either this way up

or rotated through 90 degrees, which is the way it was made, and which you can see here

Either way it is "falling leaves" an acrylic collage on paper 15 x 12 cm

It is a little smaller that those I have published so far and is a response to the coming of autumn and the rattling and flying leaves in Parc Parmentier as they fly down to become compost.
